WELCOME TO MMM NUM NUMS

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit! My name is Tori, I am a certified and active pastry chef and am the owner of Mmm Num Nums.

My last two years of high school were obstructed due to Covid-19, but with all the time I had spent at home I found a love to be in the kitchen. It started with baking cookies, brownies, and cakes. As I started to build my confidence I experimented with different breads, doughnuts, and pretzels. With my love for baking growing rapidly, I was running out of taste testers. I took to Facebook and posted interest forms monthly, with a new Facebook account I needed a logo and a name.

When thinking of a business name, a story of me growing up came into the conversation. When I with first learning how to talk and was trying new foods. Whenever I would eat something that I enjoyed I would say “Mmmmmm Num Nums”. After that, it became pretty obvious to me and my family what name my business would go by.

Nearing the end of my high school career I gained interest in confections, specially marshmallows. With plenty of research and experimenting I came up with something simple, delicious, and unlike anything I’ve ever had. Something so good that it couldn’t just be an every once in a while treat, and needed to be shared widely. My parents surprised me with an early graduation gift, an industrial 20 quart mixer. With this I went from being able making 16 marshmallows at a time to 96. With a larger mixer I also needed larger pans to fill. Soon sheet trays and a bakers rack were added to my cottage law kitchen.

Another gracious graduation gift came from very close family friends, my very first art show appearance as Mmm Num Nums at Milford Memories. From the very start, it was a hit. I was placed in the middle of the show on mainstreet and people would gather and would gain the attraction of others trying to figure out what was being sold out of this booth. The flow of people never seemed to stop. one of my favorite memories from this first show was closing time on Friday, a family friend was helping unroll the front side wall of my tent when he peeks in and says, “Tori, Im sorry but I couldn’t say no to this face.” He opened the corner of my booth back up and in walked a little girl, cash in hand, hoping to get a marshmallow cone before she had to go home. After a successful first day I was hooked, and so was Milford.
